Genshin Impact’s “Luna II” Update to Introduce UGC System “Miliastra Wonderland”

HoYoverse has announced that the highly anticipated user-generated content (UGC) system, Miliastra Wonderland, will debut in Genshin Impact’s Version “Luna II” update. This new feature marks a significant expansion for the game, inviting players to become content creators for the first time.

The Version “Luna II” update, officially titled “Song of the Welkin Moon: Reprise — An Elegy for Faded Moonlight,” is scheduled to launch on October 22nd for all platforms.

Key Features of the Miliastra Wonderland UGC System

Miliastra Wonderland functions as a separate hub where players can explore a wide range of custom-built “Stages” or create their own using the Miliastra Sandbox editing tool. HoYoverse intends for the system to house diverse content, including party games, PvP battles, simulation management, and adventure challenges.

1. The Miliastra Sandbox Editor

The core of the system is the Miliastra Sandbox, which provides players, referred to as “Craftspeople,” with extensive tools:

• Asset Utilization: Players can use a wide array of in-game resources and assets collected over Genshin Impact’s five years.
• Component Editing: Tools allow users to modify elements such as terrains, item components, and even character skills for their custom Stages.
• Logic Flows: Creators can link different elements together using logic flows to configure various Stage types and game modes without needing to write code.

2. Customizable “Manekin” Avatar

Players will be able to create their own custom avatar, a Manekin, to represent them within the Miliastra Wonderland and even in the main Teyvat world. Customization options include:

• Hair, facial features, and accessories.
• Mix-and-match Outfit Components to create unique looks, with some outfits being available for free, from a new battle pass system (Miliastra Pass), or purchasable.

3. Accessibility and Content

• Unlocking: The system is accessible to players who have completed Act I of the Archon Quest Prologue (“The Outlander Who Caught the Wind”).
• Stages at Launch: HoYoverse has promised that the launch will feature hundreds of diverse Stages for players to explore solo or with friends.
• Monetization: While the system offers free rewards and creation tools, certain cosmetics and outfit materials will be tied to a new Miliastra Pass battle pass and a new gacha-like system for limited cosmetics, indicating a new avenue for in-game spending.

Other Version “Luna II” Highlights

The Luna II update is a major release that also includes new story and character content:

• New Playable Character: Nefer, a 5-star Dendro Catalyst wielder who specializes in Lunar-Bloom reactions, makes her debut.
• Archon Quest: The storyline continues with new developments in the Nod-Krai region, with familiar faces like Varka and Arlecchino returning.
• Character Reruns: The Event Wishes will feature reruns for popular 5-star characters, including Furina, Arlecchino, and Zhongli.
